The below outline is meant to run over a course of 3 years, for 39 weeks per year that align with school term times. The below outline is indicative and highly depends on student interests – in other words, it is flexible and adaptable to student needs. Fees are £100 p/h, where discounts are available for group teaching and long-term tuition – see our price list.
Students are expected to join all the weeks and all the subjects. Of course, consideration will be given to ill health or other commitments that prevent this and the session may be rescheduled.
| Year 1 Semester 1 – Ethics course, focusing on ethical theories and how these inform our decisions. |
| Year 1 Semester 2 – Politics course, focusing on recent political events in the UK and globally. |
| Year 1 Semester 3 – Democratic theory course addressing different models of democracy. |
| Year 2 Semester 1 – Essay writing skills that will be developed in conjunction with reading and understanding PPE material. |
| Year 2 Semester 2 – Reading Foreign Policy and The Economist. Both are very influential in contemporary world and it is very important to understand their perspective and impact. We will aim to introduce some statistical analysis here too. |
| Year 2 Semester 3 – Political theory course focusing on concepts of sovereignty and authority. |
Other courses
| Year 1 – What is Europe? course, focusing on European identity and European model of a union, its impact on the world. |
| Year 1 – Greek drama & and Greek comedy, we will look at some plays specifically and try to understand their value. |
| Year 2 – International Relations theories course, focusing on different approaches to International Relations and policy relations. |
| Year 2 – Specific philosophers, scholars, politicians, artists. |
